Urinary incontinence can be caused by various conditions, including :
- Neurological pathologies: stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, spinal cord injuries.
- In women: pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, genital prolapse.
- In men: benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer.
- Other causes: diabetes, urinary infections, chronic constipation, overactive bladder.
- Age and mobility-related factors: ageing, cognitive disorders (Alzheimer's), motor disability.
🩺 A prescription from a general practitioner or a specialist (urologist, gynaecologist, neurologist…) assesses your situation and can prescribe the appropriate devices.
Prescription and management :
Some products, such as absorbent pads, penile sheaths, urinary catheters, or collection bags, may be prescribed and covered by social security under certain conditions.
Every 3 months
✅ Almost 100% reimbursed by Social Security (INAMI), a small co-payment is required.
